Biographies

Jim Warren is a senior associate with Tryon and Associates and is a very successful and popular instructor. He presents seminar offerings on data modeling, process modeling and software design.

Mr. Warren is the author for two seminars titled Modeling Business Data: The Fundamental Tools and Strategies of Data Modeling and Software Maintenance Enhancements:  Specifying Customer Requirements for Software Change.   Mr. Warren also co-authored Tryon and Associates seminar Designing Application Systems: Using Essential Process Models that provides an integrated process/data strategy for the transition from analysis to design. Jim provides valuable consulting assistance for identifying Information Engineering strategies, creating Information Strategy Plans and Business Area models as well as guiding the creation of Internal Consulting organizations.

Mr. Warren is especially noted for his knowledge of and ability to explain data modeling and process modeling techniques. He also offers expertise on facilitation techniques, multimedia applications, distributed computing and electronic authoring and document filing. Mr. Warren's experience with general business principles and software development methods makes him a valuable resource to any project or seminar audience.

Prior to joining Tryon and Associates, Jim worked for American Airlines as their chief data architect. His areas of responsibility included planning, developing and implementing corporate strategies for data, metadata and database management systems (DBMSs). Mr. Warren was also responsible for process and data model integration, technology planning and the use of business planning techniques. Prior to American Airlines, Jim was a software developer at Champlin Petroleum and Frito-Lay.
